I was pretty hype up waking up at 4am even I have only 2 hours sleep. Today the Dorifto Neko it’s going to join some Chasers Evolution boys on a convoy to Winton Raceway for an open track day.

The convoy was usual nothing drastic we were all good boys following the speed limit, but the only set back is the weather that day. The sky wasn’t really merciful as it rained during our entire journey all we can do is hope the rain will stop when we reach the track. Something I felt during the convoy is the bond within racers, we only started off with 5cars and as we drive down the road the convoy got larger and larger as we pass other cars heading the same direction without speaking a word everyone kind of understand each other and know where each other is going and we just drove together happily, its like a mutual understanding and respect for fellow drivers.

As we arrive at the track things wasn’t looking very good as it was still cloudy and the rain was still pouring down on and off, it’s like 20min sunlight and 15min rain, it’s like the sky wanted to train all the drivers to drive on dry, semi-wet and wet track all in one day.

Upon arrival and during the driver sign in I found that there were a lot of different between Australian open track day and Malaysia open track day. First thing is definitely the most important of all is the scrutinize of every car which is participating in the open day, everything is check, lose component in the engine bay, interior, tires, helmet, fire extinguisher and so on.

The next thing I notice different is the participants are group in different class so that first timer would not be nervous with all the pros go zooming by, which I personally think is very good and it keep the environment safe and every driver will have a satisfying amount of time on track doing what they came to do and in pit talking cock and singing songs with their mates. Opposite to that Malaysia open track day is like free for all when to track day starts everyone just go in amateur or pro just go in and race making some amateur drivers very nervous and sometimes kind of dangerous.

And the final thing I notice which is very very good that which we were never provided in Malaysia track day is the lap times. Here in Winton they provide lap times for each cars. So for ever end of your session you can check your lap time of each lap you make and that could help a driver improve drastically.

This track day was a bit ironic to me as it looks like an Evolution only day cause there were so many Evos on the track ranging from VI to X bloody Evos’. But lucky the rear wheel driven cars wasn’t slow as well on the track even on wet kudos FR drivers. But I’m kind of disappointed as there were no rotary powered cars and there were only 1 Impreza on the track that day.

Bottom line it was a very fun track day even with the rain pouring down, and I promise myself and my D.Neko 180sx that by mid this year I will put my car in the track for the first shakedown.

I just finish watching 199 Lives – The Travis Pastrana Story and the only thing I can say is AWESOME. Ya I know I might sound outdated here as the documentery was actually out two years back, but anyhow anything good or great is always worth mentioning regardless of its age.

Some of you might wonder who is Travis Pastrana? Well just for a brief explanation I think Travis is like one of the legends of motocross specially in free style at our times. His passion and craziness towards the sports was indeed to some insane but for the motor heads his just pure amazing.

Travis Pastrana actually started off in motocross racing and after he saw a movie about freestyle motocross he just can’t keep his mind off it and tried freestyle at first his sponsor Suzuki wasn’t impress and actually wanted him to quit freestyle but ended up Travis still keep doing it and became very good at it and won the gold medal at the first motocross freestyle event during X-Games

Travis Pastrana was also one of the first to do a black flip on a dirt bike and definitely the first to do a double back flip which not only won him yet another X-Games gold medal but also a place in the Guinness book of World Record. Travis also did make/break a few world record himself like the most back flips in 30sec, the lowest back flip and so on. For those who have watch this awesome documentary 199 Lives – The Story Of Travis Pastrana would know and those whom haven’t watch it go do so you would not regret it.

Today is the annual Brunswick Musical Festival at Sydney Road, and of cause the 309 Crack Down Crew could not just sit home and do nothing on this day can we? From left to right: Evan, Victor a.k.a DoriftoNeko, Sirous and T.J.

On this day the entire Sydney Road is closed for the Brunswick Musical Festival. It was a wonderful day as the weather was very cooling and sunny as well. The place was pack with tons of canopy and different bands all over the place playing their songs which range from classic, rock, reggae to rap and anything in between.

The crowd that turn out today was massive, the people that keeps coming is like endless. It’s been awhile since I attend an event with that much people, dam I really need to get out more often. We were all having a fun time listening to different bands showing off their musical talents and see people partying and dancing everywhere and everyone was just so happy and laughter is everywhere.

After spending like 4hours at the festival the 309 Crack Down Crew head back to the city and as usual we just head over to a pub at Melbourne Central to have a drink to cool us down and have a fun chat about cars, girls, fashion and all I can is go DC and What’s Good?

I’m sad to announce that the Dorifto Neko RPS13 is SICK. Was driving half way and suddenly felt a “bang” like a backfire but it was coming from the engine bay instead of the exhaust, and the next thing I notice tons of black smoke is coming out from the exhaust which is never a good sign. Drove the car home and have a check and found out that the “bang” actually causes a leak at the seal around the O2 sensor right behind the turbine. The back smoke is due to the ECU rich-ing the mixture cause the O2 wasn’t giving the ECU a proper feedback. Due to the leak the O2 in fact is telling the ECU that is running lean and hence the ECU injected more fuel into the combustion camber when it is not required.

And I also remove the ignition cover when I was looking at the O2 leaking problem. I remove the ignition cover cause I notice something, the ignition pack isn’t breathing any cool air its just absorbing all the hot air produce by the engine cause the cover somehow restrict cool air to ventilate to the coil packs. And by removing some of the coil packs I notice there were some symptoms that some of the coil packs were already cracked before and some starting to crack most probably due to aging and the extreme heat at the engine bay.

The problem occur when I was driving to Super Cheap to get a replacement oil filter, while buying the oil filter something caught my attention right away its a Limited Edition BATHURST 1000 titanium look a like chrome spanners. Well actually nothing that amazing about it but hell I like the color so well I bought one as well as the price is just like a normal spanners set.

Nitro Circus is going LIVE in Australia and the best part is there would be a show in Melbourne Rod Laver Arena, and it would be on the 4th and 5th Jun 2010. The whole Nitro Circus crew would be here performing for the live show. Travis Pastrana himself would of cause definitely be here to perform as well.

Nitro Circus is actually a reality tv show in America that features Travis Pastrana and his mates traveling around the world riding dirt bikes, base jumping and some idiotic and dangerous stunts. Woke up at 5.30am today and was hype up cause today is the Motorvate Melbourne show day. Took me some long walking distance to the entry cause I got off at the wrong entrance at Melbourne Showground.

It was a wonderful day with typical Melbourne weather where you have the sun shining on you and cool breeze blowing at you at the same time. When I arrive I found out something that this is not really a typical auto show but more a rally to the Melbourne government to build a DRAG STRIP here in Melbourne. I wonder would rally like this actually work around here, cause it definitely would not work in Malaysia.

Well since it’s a rally to build a drag strip what else do u expect other then tons of drag propose build cars around, surprisingly I spotted 4 Silvia drift cars from Insane Drifter which is quite a notorious drift club. And of course there were a few Evos’ and Supras’ around as well, but mainly the show still consist of Muscle from the carbie era. An era where emission was not a problem and cars were build purely on mechanical parts instead of electronic parts now days.

Today was also my very first time seeing a real top fuel dragster and funny car. As I was never a drag kind of person I never pay much attention to drag cars, but too have a detail look at them today I must admit the builders really put in a lot of effort into the engines and chassis which is totally admirable. After today I think my concept about drag racing would definitely change.

One think I believe I could not forget about to day is the revving sound of a top fuel dragster. 7000ps engine revving not more then 10 foot away from where I was standing and yes the engine is pack with 7000ps, is hard for me to describe the pure roar of the engine the noise it make the heart pumping noise I can never forget that feeling the noise and rumble of 7000ps if your blood is made of gasoline there is no way batter to wake up everyday listening to the raw of the engine.

I know this post is a little too late due to some delay here and there. Anyhow need to thanks BadBoyBen for letting me know he actually have the Suru Xanders and keeping a pair for me.

Well I can’t really write bout the feed back about this cool sneaker done by DC Shoe and design by Mike Shinoda as I still haven’t wore it myself yet. And I guess I’m one of the 500 lucky ones who had this shoe cause the SURU is only limited to 500 pairs.

And as the previous collaboration between DC and Mike Shinoda that I have which is the DC Pride MS which is also have attention to detail till the very last inch.

The Chinese character 限定商品 means Limited Edition, I just think is cool to have the Chinese lettering on it, as mention before attention to detail

First of all I would like to wish all my friends and blog viewers a very HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR and the year of the TIGER.

Just to let all of you know how happening my Chinese New Year is well it’s so happening that I’m being sitting at home all day staring at my laptop scrolling to some old pictures and sorting them out one by one.
